Our economical stairlift solution

Handicare 950 and 950L Straight

Our economical base model, the 950 Simplicity stairlift is everything but. For an entry level solution that will save you money without any detriments to safety or quality, choose the 950 straight stairlift.

The 950 includes all of our dependable standard features, such as the manual swivel seat and manual folding footrest while still maintaining a slim profile of only 11¼” from the wall when folded. To ensure operation of the stairlift would be simple, we collaborated with occupational therapists to design a ergonomic toggle that could be controlled by all users, even those with joint problems, such as arthritis or rheumatism.

Unique to the 950 line of stairlifts is its standard continuous charging function, which allows the stairlift to be parked anywhere along the track and the battery will be recharged. This ensures maximum battery availability in the event of a power outage and also eliminates the need for your stairlift to be parked at a designated location. This also becomes convenient if you have an obstruction at the bottom of your staircase and you would prefer to park your stairlift away from the landing.

If space at the bottom of your stairs is of a premium, or there are obstructions that you need to avoid (such as a doorway, table or heating unit), the 950 can also be upgraded to include a manual folding hinge or a powered SlideTrack, a proprietary feature to Handicare. The innovative design of the SlideTrack eliminates any track intrusion on your staircase or landing.

Available option(s) for this stairlift
  • Slide track: Automatically moves the track clear of any obstacles while the stairlift moves into a parked position making it ideal for hallways where access is required through doorways close to the staircase.
  • Easy hinge: The track can be folded away from the doorway manually, giving clear access.

Need Fault / Error Codes For Minivator / Handicare Stairlifts?

Years ago, the Minivator stairlift company was bought by Handicare to bring the Minivator 950, 1000 and 2000 under the Handicare brand.

We have codes for most types of Handicare stair lifts including the now branded Handicare 950, 1000 and 2000. Please note that Handicare also offer other models of stairlifts including the Freecurve and 1100, which is not covered within this article currently.

If your stair lift has a serious issue and you’re based in Ireland, then feel free to Get In Touch with us to make a repair appointment.

Minivator / Handicare 950, 1000 & 2000 Codes

These 3 models of Minivator / Handicare lifts share the same codes between them

When your stairlift is working, you’ll normally not notice the code display on the lift. Usually a green coloured display, the status code display is located on the downward side of the 950 stairlift and on the front of the 1000 stair lift, below the seat.

On the 2000 curved model, you can also see the codes under the seat, next to the on off button.
