The 1000 features a slim, anodized aluminum track. With no gearing exposed, the 1000 provides a polished aesthetic while providing minimal obstructions on your staircase to ensure other users can safely get by.
If installing the stairlift near a doorway or other obstruction near the bottom of the staircase, a hinged rail option is available. This allows the track to be folded up and out of the way when not in use. The 1000 is also equipped with foldaway footrests, seats and armrests to further maximize space on the stairs for other users.
The 1000 stairlift’s versatile and durable design allows it to be upgraded to a number of our add-on packages, whether it be for a commercial or heavy duty application.

Introduction
Need Fault / Error Codes For Minivator / Handicare Stairlifts?
Years ago, the Minivator stairlift company was bought by Handicare to bring the Minivator 950, 1000 and 2000 under the Handicare brand.
We have codes for most types of Handicare stair lifts including the now branded Handicare 950, 1000 and 2000.

Minivator / Handicare 1000
When your stairlift is working, you’ll normally not notice the code display on the lift. Usually a green coloured display, the status code display is located on the downward side of the 950 stairlift and on the front of the 1000 stair lift, below the seat.
On the 2000 curved model, you can also see the codes under the seat, next to the on off button.

| No Display – Check to see the stairlift is switched on, if it still won’t work then Contact Us for a quote. | |
| – | Normal (Charging) – The lift is charging, if the lift doesn’t move then there may be fault with the toggle switch. Try using remote to see if it works. |
| 0 | Final Limit Activated – Check to see the key isn’t off, the emergency stop on the side of the seat isn’t pressed or the lift hasn’t over travelled. |
| 1 | Needs Charge – Ensure the power supply is on and the lift is on it’s charge point. Normally this is bottom or top of stairs. |
| 2 | Off Charge – Ensure the power supply is on and the lift is on it’s charge point. Normally this is bottom or top of stairs. |
| 3 | End Limit Reached– If it’s a right hand lift then it means it’s stuck at the top where it’s a left hand lift would mean it’s stuck at the bottom. |
| 4 | Footrest Safety Activated – Either the up or down footrest side is activated, check for obstructions. |
| 5 | End Limit Reached– If it’s a right hand lift then it means it’s stuck at the bottom where it’s a left hand lift would mean it’s stuck at the top. |
| 6 | Safety Edge Activated – Check footrest bottom & downside & chassis safety edges. |
| 7 | Batteries Critical – The batteries are low and most likely need replacing, bring down to nearest charge point and recharge. Contact Us for a quote. |
| 8 | Stairlift Moving – The stairlift is moving up or down via the seat toggle switch. |
| 9 | Stairlift Moving – The stairlift is moving up or down via the seat toggle switch. |
| A | Hinge Is Open – If this issue remains, Contact Us to book a repair. |
| b | Switch Active – A switch is active already when the lift has been switched on. Make sure the up down switch is in neutral. |
| C | IR Address Fail – The Infrared remotes aren’t paired correctly with the stairlift. |
| d | Relay Not Open – There’s a fault with the main relay on the PCB. If persistent then replace relay or PCB. Contact Us for a quote. |
| E | Relay Not Closed – There’s a fault with the main relay on the PCB or possibly batteries. Contact Us for a quote. |
| F | Brake Circuit Fault – Possible PCB fault. Contact Us for a quote. |
| g | Brake Not Connected – Check to see if brake is connected, if it is then test brake and possibly replace motor brake. |
| H | Relay Not Open – There’s a fault with the main relay on the PCB. If persistent then replace relay or PCB. Contact Us for a quote. |
| J | Hinge Locking Error – There’s an issue with the interlock switch on the hinge. Contact Us for a quote. |
| L | Motor Over Current – The motor is overloaded, check to see if there are any obstructions or user exceeding weight limit. |
| n | Half Speed – Possible low batteries or fault with the lift causing it to go into half speed mode. Also check PCB dip switches for this setting. Contact Us for a quote. |
| o | Default Eprom – The Eprom Has Been Reset To Its Default Value (Flash Failure) – Faulty PCB. Contact Us for a quote. |
| P | Power Swivel No Reply – Power swivel hasn’t replied, try pressing and holding the toggle up switch to turn the seat. |
| r | No Charge Current – Check to see if power supply is switched on. |
| U | No Float Indication – Most likely a faulty power supply, replace power supply. |
| Y | PCB Error – The main PCB board has a fault and needs replacing. Contact Us for a quote. |
| .II. | Over Current – There’s an over current fault with the drive unit. Possibly replace drive unit / gearbox. Contact Us for a quote. |
| .8. | Sleep Mode – The lift is in sleep mode, press the up or down on the toggle or remotes to re-activate the stair lift. |
